As you are aware of the fact that a small portion of India is going to witness an Annular Solar Eclipse, one of the Nature’s best show, on Friday, January 15th, 2010. We, the Indians, are too fortunate to have two Solar Eclipses in such a short gap within own country boundary. The last one we had was a Total Solar Eclipse on July 22nd, 2009.
A team from SWAN is heading towards Rameswaram, extreme south corner of Indian continent, to study the Annular Solar Eclipse on next January.
To make all aware of the intrinsic facts and techniques for safe viewing of the event through your esteemed media, we, on behalf of SWAN have organized a News Conference at Hotel Sinclairs on Wednesday, December 23, 2009 at 11.30 am.
In addition, a brief account of the scientific activities to be carried out by SWAN on the event and our previous experiences, achievements on solar observation, would also be presented at the meet.
Details of our ASE 2010 activities will be available on our official website soon.
